Largest Cities in New Jersey

New Jersey is a Northeastern U.S. state with a 130-mile stretch of Atlantic coastline. The state capital, Jersey City, is located across the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan, and is a good place to get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty and the historic Immigration Museum. Several notable resort towns also line the Jersey Shore, including Asbury Park, which is characterized by Victorian architecture. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation or an active outdoor activity, the state’s varied landscape offers something for everyone.

The table below presents a list of the largest cities in New Jersey, ordered by population. These figures are based on data from the 2020 American Community Survey. These statistics are useful when making comparisons between cities in the same state. By knowing which cities are more populated, you’ll be able to determine which ones you should visit. You can also use the list of municipalities to help you decide where to live. You can see how many people live in each city and where they make their living.

New Brunswick is a 5 square mile city on the Raritan River. It’s home to a variety of cultural and artistic institutions, and is an important transportation hub. Although there are few public transportation options, the city offers a free shuttle system to get around the downtown area. The New Brunswick train station connects to Manhattan. It takes 50 minutes to commute from Bayonne to Midtown. In addition, there are two subway stations in the city.
